Thriving During Economic Uncertainty

If you’ve been following the news over the last couple of weeks, you’ll know that there’s been quite a stir happening on Wall Street.

We’ve heard about collapses, bailouts and the possibility of more to come.

Just yesterday the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell nearly 778 points, the largest single point drop in history.

Thankfully today, it had the 3rd HIGHEST point gain on record.

No question, the financial markets are definitely unstable.

Whether the situation quickly improves or gets worse before it gets better, remains to be seen.

BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE…

The road to abundance and prosperity starts in your own mind.

Many people believe that a new government will help them to succeed.

Many feel that lower food and gas prices will make things better.

Still others blame the economy, taxes, the war in Iraq and countless other factors which are beyond the control of most people.

While all of these issues do have an impact on our collective abundance and prosperity, they are all inconsequential compared to the most important factor of all…

Your focus…

Energy flows to where attention goes.

What you focus on has the greatest impact on your abundance and prosperity.

Now more than ever, it’s important to realize that YOU and YOU ALONE hold the keys to your financial success.

In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t really matter what happens on Wall Street or any place else.

The only thing that matters is what happens inside of YOU…

“All personal achievement starts within the mind of the individual.” ~ W. Clement Stone

The fact is, you can still make money and enjoy a wonderful lifestyle regardless of what’s happening in the economy.

All it takes is focus, simple knowledge, and realizing how powerful you really are.

Sadly, many people relinquish their personal power by inadvertently giving it to other people, institutions and the government.

Personal power is also dissipated when we listen to the news, especially economic news, most of which has been terrible lately.

Now, I’m not saying to ignore economic and financial news.  That would be irresponsible.

But what I am saying is to not let it sour your entire outlook on what is and isn’t possible financially.

“99.99% of what happens is not on the news.” ~ Loesje

For many people, bad economic news is a self-fulfilling prophesy.

It gives them an excuse to complain and be negative instead of being positive and focusing on opportunities to succeed.

Please keep the following in mind…

Aside from the cold, hard statistical facts, most of the financial pundits you hear on the TV and radio are discussing opinion, not gospel.

And opinion doesn’t turn into prophesy unless you let it.

The reality is, opportunities are endless and everywhere.

“We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.” ~ Charles R. Swindoll

The fact is, you are ONE IDEA away from your greatest opportunity, regardless of the economic climate.

You are one idea away from solving any one of your problems, whether it’s personal, financial or anything else.

One idea.  That’s all it takes.

“Ideas are the beginning points of all fortunes.” ~ Napoleon Hill

Circumstances may “appear” tougher during uncertain economic times, but in reality, opportunities to succeed are still all over the place.   They just may not be in the same place you originally thought.

The Law of Cycles and Why Money is Still Really Everywhere

There is a natural, rhythmic order of things.

Everything you can see, hear or touch, everything you can sense is subject to the natural law of cycles.

If you observe closely, you’ll notice that many events tend to recur in cycles at regular intervals; the four seasons, the rise and fall of the tides, optimum agricultural plantings, animal populations, and yes — even economic activity.

If you carefully observe your own life, you’ll probably notice that you too experience natural rhythms of moods, circumstances and energy levels.

In a recent article, The Secret to Money is Having Some, I discussed the fact that the flow of money is governed by physical and natural laws.

The fact is, the entire universe is subject to the law of cycles and money is no exception.

But since money is merely a shadow of the value we place in goods and services,  there’s really no change in its flow.

Instead, there’s only a natural shift in the opportunities required to create it.

“Resources are unlimited because our minds are unlimited.” ~ Paul Zane Pilzer

In other words, if you want a constant flow of money in your life, you need to focus on two things:

1) You must properly structure your financial life so no matter which phase of a cycle you’re in, money continues to flow, and…

2) You need to be aware of and act on any new opportunities presented to you.

Despite the bad news about the economy, some people are still making a lot of money.

There’s no reason why you can’t be one of them.

=================================
Tips for Thriving During Economic Uncertainty
=================================

#1 - Start Your Own Business

I’ve been urging and showing people how to start their own businesses for a very long time.

If one of your goals in life is to achieve material wealth and financial independence, one of the quickest and surest ways to achieve those results is through owning a business of your own. Period.

Owning a thriving and profitable business beats investing in the stock market, speculating in real estate and other money-making ventures.

Believe it or not, but a recession can actually be a wonderful time to start a new business venture.

Having been a business adviser for nearly 25 years, I can tell you that some great businesses were started during a recession.

The owners simply addressed a need during an economic downturn which continued to be successful even when the economy rebounded.

“Starting a business in a recession is like vacationing in the off-season. It’s a little less crowded, and everything starts going on sale.” ~ an entrepreneur

During a recession, entrepreneurs have to be resourceful with their money in order to succeed.

A recession forces you to be smarter with your cash than you might be otherwise.

It teaches patience and money wisdom; two qualities needed to make a fortune.

If you already have a business, make it better by engaging in strategic thinking.

Strategic thinking, or planning your business’s future, often takes a back-seat during boom times because business owners are too busy working in their business instead of on it.

By taking advantage of downtime to think strategically,  you can spot new opportunities you didn’t think you had.

This includes tapping new markets, launching new products, streamlining operations and countless other growth-oriented maneuvers.

#2 - Pay Close Attention to What You Think and Say

During tough times, it’s easy to get into the habit of thinking negative thoughts and making negative comments, especially when the mass media makes it easy for you to do so.

Constantly thinking and talking about the bad stuff will only serve to bring you — and anyone around you — down.

Before you know it, you’ll end up in one of those self-fulfilling prophecies we talked about earlier.

Stay informed, but don’t keep repeating what you hear on the news.  Remember, energy flows to where attention goes.

Monitor your thoughts and speech (including self-talk) at all costs.

“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.” ~ Frank Outlaw

By focusing on the positive, you’ll also do wonders for your creative thinking.

Creative thinking allows you to come up with solutions to your problems.

It also allows you to see new opportunities.

One of the biggest downsides to being in a negative frame of mind is that it blinds you to opportunities.

#3 - Take a Sharp Axe to Expenses

Not too many people like to talk about this, but if you want to thrive during uncertain economic times, it may be the perfect time to take a serious look at every single one of your personal expenditures.

Actually, this is good practice at ANY time, regardless of how much or how little money you have.

“Do not confuse needs with wants. All are burdened with more desires than they can gratify.” ~ George S. Clason

Despite what many prosperity teachers claim, reducing your expenses does not send out the wrong message to the universe that you don’t have enough money, and therefore you’ll just get more of the same.

On the contrary; I believe it tells the universe that you are smart enough to handle more money.

Simple truth: the better you are at managing money, the more of it you end up having.

#4 - Count Your Blessings Not Your Problems

If you really take stock of all the things you do have in your life, I bet you will be amazed.

Too often people focus on what’s missing in their lives and as a result, they ignore the riches they do have; like a great family, a loving spouse, wonderful children, fantastic pets, loyal friends, and the freedom to be or do whatever they want.

Every so often someone will write to me and tell me how desperate things are for them.  Since I’ve been there myself at one time, I can surely sympathize.

But I always point out the same thing…

How bad can it really be?

I mean, how bad can it really be if you are still alive and reaching out to others?

Many people around the world haven’t had a bite to eat in days….

How bad can it really be if you are sitting at a computer  and writing emails?

Some people around the world don’t even have electricity or running water.

Ask yourself: how bad is it really?

Focusing on your blessings will cause you to feel grateful.

“Reflect upon your present blessings of which every man has many - not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.”
~ Charles Dickens

And when you feel grateful, you create a shift in your thinking from the negative to the positive.

Being positive opens the doorway to your mind.  Only when its open, can opportunity can jump in.

Your Financial Destiny is in Your Own Hands

Remember, the road to abundance and prosperity begins in your own mind.

Money is unlimited because your mind is unlimited.

Stay focused on opportunity and learn to take full control over your personal finances.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not the bankers or politicians who are ultimately responsible for your financial situation, it’s you and you alone.

Surprising Millionaire Secrets

Most people have dreams of becoming rich.

Who wouldn’t want the peace of mind and freedom ultimate financial security brings?

“Wealth is power.  With wealth many things are possible.”
~ George Clason

There has never been more personal wealth in the world than there is today.

There has also never been as much information on how to acquire wealth as there is today.

Yet most people are not wealthy.

Why?

Many reasons.

First and foremost: LACK OF EDUCATION.

Not science, reading or math smarts, but money smarts.

There’s a science and system to accumulating wealth.

“Success is a science; if you have the conditions, you get the result.”  ~ Oscar Wilde

The principles are easy, but the application (for most), is anything but.

Sadly, many people learn more about dissecting worms when they leave school than they do about accumulating wealth and investing.

The fact that personal finance isn’t taught in schools is one of our society’s biggest mistakes.

“Financial education needs to become a part of our national curriculum and scoring systems so that it’s not just the rich kids that learn about money.. it’s all of us.” ~ David Bach

There should be a higher priority placed on learning how to invest and build wealth than on learning the capital of some state or country you will never visit.

Another important factor why many people are not wealthy is…

…LACK OF WILL POWER.

Education and knowledge about money is fine, but nothing beats WILL POWER.

When it comes to generating and accumulating wealth, an ounce of will power is worth more than a ton of education or knowledge.

And from my own experience as a CPA and financial consultant, I can tell you that this is absolutely the case.

=> Wealthy people aren’t necessarily the smartest folks around; they’re just doing a few simple things that everybody else isn’t.

In my last article, The Secret to Money is Having Some, I discussed the KEY wealth building principle of PAY YOURSELF FIRST.

It’s simple.  It works.

Yet when I ask people at my seminars if they are paying themselves first, the answer is usually no.

And that brings me to another KEY wealth building principle.

Are you ready?

Here it is….

When it comes to money — millionaires and aspiring millionaires have more WILL POWER than the average person.

Generating and accumulating money is actually quite easy, once you understand the simple physical and natural laws which govern its flow.

If you’re willing to combine mental principles with an ounce of financial will power, there’s no limit to the amount of money you can have.

And here’s something else millionaires and aspiring millionaires understand…

It’s not what you earn, it’s what you KEEP that counts.

Again, simple truth as valid today as it was six thousand years ago.

“The amount of money you have has got nothing to do with what you earn.. people earning a million dollars a year can have no money and.. People earning $35,000 a year can be quite well off. It’s not what you earn, it’s what you spend that matters.” ~ Paul Clitheroe

Millionaire Myths and Misinformation

Now, let’s debunk the myths and misinformation surrounding millionaires.

It’s a fact: most people have the wrong idea about millionaires.

The truth is, the majority of the so-called  “rich” people that you see on TV or read about in magazines, or see on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous are not your typical millionaires.

There are roughly 10 million millionaires in the world today.

Only around 106,000 of them are what are described as the “super rich” with assets of $30 million or more.

The rest have assets of $1 million or more, with the average being around $4 million.

Now here’s another interesting thing to consider…

All That Glitters is NOT Gold

As the saying goes, “all that glitters is NOT gold.”

Just because a person drives a flashy car or dresses with expensive clothes doesn’t necessarily make them wealthy.

It only points to the fact that they’re SPENDERS.

Unfortunately, spending won’t make you rich.

Only saving, investing and exercising your MONEY WILL POWER will.

Surprising Millionaire Secrets

A fascinating study of wealthy individuals was published in a best-selling book entitled, The Millionaire Next Door by authors Thomas J. Stanley, Ph.D. and William D. Danko, Ph.D.

The authors interviewed and researched thousands of millionaires.

Here are just a few of the surprising conclusions and statistics from Stanley and Danko’s book (by the way, I’ve witnessed many of these same observations working with high net-worth individuals):

#1 - Most millionaires don’t live in upscale neighborhoods or drive new luxury cars.

A majority of the people who live in expensive homes and who drive luxury cars do NOT have much wealth.

They may have high incomes, but high income does NOT equal wealth.

Individuals with high incomes tend to spend their money freely.

Millionaires don’t.

One millionaire I know just purchased a six-year old Mercedes Benz S-Class AMG with 40,000 miles on it for $21,000.  The car is absolutely stunningly beautiful.  Most people think he paid a fortune for it.

Actually, it was the original owner who paid the fortune.

#2 - 80% of millionaires are not descendants of wealthy families.

In fact, most of them managed to accumulate their wealth in one generation only.

Additionally, these first generation millionaires generally don’t have wealthy children.

Why?

Because these people want their children to have a better life.  As a result, they inadvertently turn their kids into big-time consumers.

And before the kids realize it, the money usually runs dry.

#3 Most millionaires don’t spend their money on expensive $5,000 watches or $300 shoes.

The fact is, the market for these types of items is made up mostly of non-millionaires.

That’s right.  Non-millionaires buy most of these products!

For every shoe priced over $300, there are eight non-millionaire buyers for every millionaire buyer.

Here’s another interesting fact: The average price a millionaire spends on a suit is $399.

#4 Most millionaires are manager/owners of businesses.

Self-employment is a MAJOR factor in becoming wealthy.

In other words, you have more of a chance of becoming wealthy if you own your own business.

For maximum wealth; nothing beats owning your own business …period.

Not stocks, bonds, real estate or any other investment.

Do You Notice Any Patterns in the Above?

Clearly, the formula for success is two-fold:

1. Save money; always pay yourself first. The typical millionaire saves between 10% to 20% of their income.

2. Spend less than you make.  Remember it’s not what you earn, it’s what you keep and invest that counts.

The fact is you don’t need to make a ton of money to become a millionaire.

You just need to pay yourself first and flex your financial will power.

If you do just these minimum things and nothing else, you will have all you need to eventually become a millionaire.

But of course, that may take YEARS…

The Fast Track to Wealth

On the other hand,  if you’re looking for the FAST TRACK to wealth (as most people are), then it is entirely possible to become rich in 12 months or less.

And the fastest way to accomplish this is: TO OWN A BUSINESS OF YOUR OWN.

But keep in mind that having a high income will not guarantee you will be a millionaire.

All of us, rich or poor, will ALWAYS have more desires than our money can gratify.

That’s just human nature.

But as long as you understand the two concepts above, you will not only become rich, but you will also stay that way.

The Metaphysics of Wealth

And finally, in addition to the practical aspects of wealth creation, there is no doubt a metaphysical side as well.

I have seen money flow in — and out of — my own life and the lives of others with astonishing synchronicity.

“None of the extremely wealthy people today could have, at the time when they were not wealthy, possibly predicted and planned the exact sequence of events that would lead to their immense wealth.  They most probably had a set of goals and a plan, but any one of them will tell you that they met countless ‘coincidences’ and opportunities that ‘joined the dots’ for them in ways they could never have predicted.”  David Cameron Gikandi, author of A Happy Pocket Full of Money

It’s important to grasp both the physical and mental aspects of money as quickly and as early as possible.

If you understand both the practical and metaphysical aspects of money, you truly will have the potential to create whatever material wealth you desire.

Unfortunately, most people say that they’ll start worrying about the practical aspects (i.e, money management) when they have more money.

The truth is, if you don’t start managing the money you have now, chances are you’ll care even less if you have more of it.

And as authors Stanley and Danko point out in their book The Millionaire Next Door:

“There is strong positive correlation between investment planning and wealth accumulation.  People who become and stay wealthy allocate their time, energy and money in ways consistent with enhancing their net worth.”

In other words, if you don’t care about your money, your money won’t be there to care for you.

The Secret to Money is Having Some

Prosperity teachers claim that one of the secrets to accumulating riches is to first adopt a wealth consciousness.

What is a wealth consciousness?

Simply put, it is a mindset which encompasses all of your beliefs, attitudes and ideas about money and your ability to create or attract it into your life.

People who have a lot of wealth and prosperity in their lives are said to possess a healthy wealth consciousness, while people who struggle financially are said to have the opposite; a lack or poverty consciousness.

Here’s my take…

The concept of needing to have a wealth consciousness before you can succeed and get rich …while very important …is only a half truth.

In fact, the concept is a bit over-emphasized.

Thinking big and thinking rich will definitely help you overcome limiting beliefs and attitudes about money, but it isn’t all that you require to have lots and lots of material wealth.

To really develop financial power and wealth, you have to exist in a world which is much different than the one most people live in.

“You’ll never achieve more than the crowd unless you think more than the crowd.” ~ James Bryant Conant

The fact is we all live in both a physical and mental universe.

The problem I see with most folks is that they are either firmly planted in one realm or the other.

Some focus too much on the physical side of things and as a result, they succumb to external pressures and events which causes them to live in a never-ending cycle of struggle and strain.

Others life in a mental trance, and only “think” about wealth and money, but don’t really do anything physical to attract it into their lives.

Surprisingly, many of those in a mental trance do indeed have a healthy wealth consciousness …They just don’t have any money!

The Flow of Money is Governed by Simple Physical and Natural Laws

People who focus on acquiring a wealth consciousness without taking the necessary physical and natural steps to bring money into their lives are trying to break nature’s laws.

And the fact is, you can’t break nature’s laws.  If you do, nature will break you instead.

“Growth, whether plant growth, muscle growth, financial growth, or mind growth, is governed by natural laws. It can’t be forced beyond previous preparation. Each day’s growth prepares for the next day’s growth. We can never break nature’s laws. Too often we break ourselves, trying” ~ Frank Tibolt

Wealthy people realize that money…like anything else in the material world …conforms to certain natural rules and principles.

“Money is plentiful for those who understand the simple laws which govern its acquisition.”  ~ George S. Clason

And one of those simple rules is the following…

The Secret to Money is Having Some!

Now, if this seems like a play on words, please stick with me and I’ll explain…

Nothing …and I do mean nothing…will increase your wealth consciousness faster than actually having some money in your pocket, purse or bank account.

This is one of the REAL SECRETS to acquiring wealth.

The saying, “success breeds success” is absolutely true.

And so is the term, “money flows to those who have it”!

The more money and success you have, the more your wealth consciousness will increase.

And the more you increase your wealth consciousness, the more money you’ll have!

But it all starts with actually having some money!

Here Are Some Often Overlooked Facts About Money:

=> Money does not have a conscience.

It doesn’t care whether you are a priest or a pornographer.

Contrary to what many people think, money doesn’t care what your intentions are or whether you “feel” good or not.

Money is like liquid mercury; it only seeks itself.

=> Money does not flow to where it’s needed; it flows to where it can grow.

Financially needy or desperate people rarely ever get the money they require, unless they also have a plan to make money increase and circulate.

Even money (in the form of donations and contributions) which usually flows to the citizens of areas ravaged by natural disasters and other calamities, eventually runs dry unless there are specific steps taken to increase its growth and circulation.

=> Money grows fastest when it flows between people

Money has the potential to grow by leaps and bounds if it is used as a vehicle to facilitate the transfer of ideas, goods and services between people.

In other words, if you have a properly laid out business which helps people solve their problems or helps them to get what they want, you will eventually end up with more money than you can imagine.

“Industry pays debts, while despair increases them.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

The Strange and Simple Truth About Money

As a business consultant and personal wealth adviser for nearly 25 years, I can attest (personally and professionally) to one of the simplest, yet strangest things about money I have ever seen…

The more you have of it, the more easily you get it.

Of course, this isn’t a new concept at all.

Its been a unfailing natural principle since the days of ancient Babylon, six thousand years ago.

“Surely it is a law of the Gods that unto him who keepeth and spendeth not a certain part of all his earnings, shall gold come more easily.  Likewise, him whose purse is empty does gold avoid.” ~ excerpt from The Richest Man in Babylon

The Bible addresses this very principle in the Parable of the Talents (The Gospel of Matthew 25:29) as follows:

”For to every one that has shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that has not shall be taken away even that which he has.”

Incidentally,  in my opinion, the Parable of the Talents reveals one of the greatest wealth-building secrets of all time.  In case you missed what I wrote about it, I urge you to read it HERE.

The LAW described in the Parable of the Talents tells us in simple and unequivocal terms how to achieve immense wealth and success in life.

So, how does one go about implementing this LAW?

Glad you asked…

But first, let me remind you of something I’ve been talking about for quite some time:

=============
The 1% Difference
=============

The 1% difference is simple…

The difference between success and mediocrity, between winners and losers is oftentimes just a 1% difference.

The only real difference between you and someone who has the kind of money and lifestyle that you want, is that they are doing a few simple things that you aren’t.

If you think this is an oversimplification, please allow me to elaborate…

Over the last 2 decades, I’ve worked with some incredibly wealthy individuals.

Most of them are just ordinary people with average intelligence.  A few never even finished high school.

They’ve got the same hang ups and problems just like everybody else.

The difference is they’re willing to invest the time and effort doing things that most people shy away from or just don’t feel like doing.

Surprisingly, these things are so simple ANYBODY can do them.

And one thing millionaires and aspiring millionaires do very well is they understand and follow the key wealth principle of…

Pay yourself first.

Multimillionaire businessman and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie once told his executives:

“I have found the Midas Touch. Pay yourself first. Save 10% before making your budget, instead of after, as I used to do. I never had anything left after making my budget.”

If you’re not willing to save a portion of every dollar you earn (regardless of your financial condition), then you don’t have what it takes to become wealthy …period.

Here’s how master motivator Frank Tibolt, author of A Touch of Greatness  put it:

“If you want to know whether you’ll succeed, the test is simple: can you save money? If not, drop out. You’ll fail. You might think other traits make up for lack of saving, but they won’t.”

Again …if you’re not willing to do what I am about to show you, then you aren’t serious about getting rich.

Besides, it’ll only take a tiny 1% increase in your efforts, but the results may astound you.

Okay?

So let’s get started…

The secret to money is having some!

============================
5 Steps to Starting on the Road to Wealth
============================

1) Go to your bank and set up a WEALTH ACCOUNT.

This account should be completely separate from any other accounts or investments that you have.

Make sure you actually refer to this separate account as your WEALTH ACCOUNT.

For example, if you keep track of your bank accounts on your computer, be sure to label this specific account as your WEALTH ACCOUNT.

If you have a passbook for the account, make sure you write in BIG BOLD LETTERS on the front of it, WEALTH ACCOUNT.

Calling it your WEALTH ACCOUNT is important as I’ll explain in a moment.

2) Make regular deposits into your WEALTH ACCOUNT.

It doesn’t matter how much or how little you earn.  Put a portion of every dollar you make in your WEALTH ACCOUNT, preferably 10% of all gross earnings.

If 10% is not doable for you right now, then start with a smaller amount.

But keep the following in mind…

Make deposits into your WEALTH ACCOUNT regularly, without fail.

It doesn’t matter how much you deposit, so long as you deposit something.

What if you have debt?

Too often, people say they’ll start saving once they get the rest of their financial house in order.

The truth is …for many, that day NEVER comes.

=> Save 10% of all earnings even if you have debt.

”Many other subjects mean little later in life.  But money wisdom is needed until we take our last breath.” ~ Frank Tibolt

3) Leave your WEALTH ACCOUNT alone.

This is the part where most people fail.

Why?

Because all of us have more desires than our money can gratify.

One of the best kept secrets of the rich is the following:

Focus on your most cherished desires and guard against your casual wishes.

In other words, cut out all of your needless purchases!

The money in your WEALTH ACCOUNT should not be used for anything other than more wealth building activity.

In other words, never, ever withdraw any money out of your WEALTH ACCOUNT, unless you are transferring it to another wealth building or investment account.

In fact, when you set up the account, make sure you don’t get checks or withdrawal slips!

If possible, set up your WEALTH ACCOUNT with an online bank or one which is far away from your home and office. This way you won’t be tempted to make withdrawals from it.

4) Celebrate each time you make a deposit!

In fact, jump for joy!  After all, this is your WEALTH ACCOUNT we’re talking about.

Celebrating each time you make a deposit does one very important thing…

It increases your wealth consciousness because it relays to your subconscious mind that, hey, you do indeed have money because you really do!

Also, do not delegate the task of making deposits to anyone else.

Why?

Because a deposit is a celebration, not a task to be delegated.  Do it yourself.

Keep in mind that each time you make a deposit, you are impressing your subconscious mind with valuable wealth programming.

5) Visualize Lots of Money Flowing Into Your WEALTH ACCOUNT

If you’ve been a student of the law of attraction and positive thinking for as long as I have, then you already know important it is to focus on what you want.

The problem is most people inadvertently focus on what they don’t want.  And as usual, they always end up getting more of the same.

If you have a burning desire to get rich, then it’s important to focus on wealth and prosperity.

But as I’ve said throughout this article, you can’t just think about money; you’ve also got to have some!

Many people look at their bank accounts and focus on how little they have.  In effect, they curse their accounts and repel money even more.

Your WEALTH ACCOUNT on the other hand, will help you to attract money because it’s something real and tangible.

And remember, the more of it you have, the more of it you’ll get.  Don’t ask me how….it just works.

“Losers visualize the penalties of failure. Winners visualize the rewards of success.”  ~ Unknown

In addition to making actual deposits, be sure to visualize how much money you’d like to have in your WEALTH  ACCOUNT.

See the words WEALTH ACCOUNT in your mind’s eye along with the actual amount of money you want in it.

Visualize depositing checks and cash into your WEALTH ACCOUNT.

Before you know it you’ll have a healthier wealth consciousness and more money too!

Don’t Make the Mistake of Discounting Simple Truth

If setting up and contributing to a WEALTH ACCOUNT sounds simple, it’s because it is.

Truth is always simple.

There are countless ways to invest and make money.  I could spend an entire lifetime writing about all of the different methods and practices.

Yet a WEALTH ACCOUNT is the beginning of all fortunes. Many millionaires started out in exactly this way.

Wealth is Created by Investment Not Income

Keep in mind that the majority of wealth is created by investment not income.

Many people believe that wealth is a result of having a high income.

This is absolutely not the case.

The belief that high income equals high wealth is a total MYTH promulgated by our consuming-oriented culture.

If you want to become wealthy, you have to save and invest above all else.

Having a high income helps, but it’s no guarantee you’ll be rich.

The fact is, I’ve known a few people who couldn’t make ends meet even though they were earning over a million dollars a year.

Remember, becoming wealthy means placing emphasis on INVESTMENT AND SAVINGS not income.

The secret to money is having some!

The Tipping Point

When people become successful, there is usually a turning point in their life which marks the transition from failure to success.

It’s the point of critical mass, or simply the tipping point.

What exactly is the tipping point?

“It’s when a person acquires the impetus for sudden change. It’s the point where possibility begins to turn into reality.”

It’s the specific moment in a person’s life when things begin to “click” and become easier for them.

It’s the point where one little success leads to another and then another and then another.

It’s the point where success and prosperity just flows.

For example…

If you’re in business, the sales just keep coming …better and more frequent than ever before.

If you’re looking for a great job, you get it.

If you’re searching for your soul mate, they show up in your life.

If there’s something specific you’d like to be, do, or have, all of the people, resources and opportunities you need seem to magically appear to help you.

It’s the point where you don’t have to act “as if” anymore because you are it.

You now have the traction to accomplish your goals. You are accomplishing your goals.

“The tipping point is the bridge that takes you from a life of struggle and strain, to one of victory and fulfillment.”

And when the tipping point occurs, you will find it easier to accomplish your next goal.

“The old saying that “success breeds success” has something to it. It’s that feeling of confidence that can banish negativity and procrastination and get you going the right way.” ~ Donald Trump

Now you might be asking…. “Does something like this really happen to people?”

And my answer is simple …absolutely.

The fact is, you may have already experienced the tipping point at one point or another in your life.

Maybe when you were a kid or a teenager. Maybe a few years or even a few months ago.

Perhaps you’ve already achieved a certain level of success in your life and somehow it dissipated or slipped away.

Maybe you haven’t yet reached or experienced the tipping point.

Don’t worry. It doesn’t matter.

The great thing about the tipping point, is that we have access to an UNLIMITED SUPPLY!

That’s right. You can reach the tipping point in your life anytime you want.

Unfortunately, many people are afraid to reach the tipping point. They unknowingly resist it.

Since the tipping point usually brings big changes in one’s life, it makes some people feel uncomfortable.

Many people actually prefer the status quo because it is a known quantity. They may desire or yearn for something different, but subconsciously they actually resist it because it involves something new, or it involves a lifestyle change they perceive as uncomfortable.

Other people have the tipping point forced upon them.

For some, an emotional trauma or life-threatening experience changes their entire outlook. They can’t help but go forward in a completely new and positive direction.

Another wonderful thing about the tipping point is that it will help you to unleash your hidden powers.

“The most valuable thing that can come into anyone’s life is that book, that proverb, that experience, that person, that emergency or incident that introduces a man or woman to his or her inner unknown powers.” ~ Frank Tibolt, author of A Touch of Greatness

Once you reach the tipping point, seemingly miracles begin to happen.

Ideas to help you realize your goal will come from everywhere.

Your hopes rise …you change from drifting to driving. Your whole life seems to surge ahead.

Optimism replaces pessimism, positive replaces negative. Hope blooms and despair flees.

Your confidence drives out all doubt — indifference changes to enthusiasm. You’re on your way!

So now the question is… “How do I reach the tipping point in my life?”

Glad you asked…

Here are 3 tips for getting to your tipping point:

1) Belief is essential.

If you think it takes lots of hard work and struggle to get where you need to go in life, then that’s exactly what it will take for you to succeed.

“Every person is the creation of himself, the image of his own thinking and believing. As individuals think and believe, so they are.” ~ Claude Bristol

In order to reach the tipping point, you must believe in instant and spontaneous change.

Think about this…

“The solution to your exact problem or predicament already exists.”

Right now, whatever it is that you need to reach your goals; whether it’s a person you need to contact, a piece of vital information you need to acquire, a specific action you need to take, or a book you need to read, …it (or they) already exists, right now, at this very moment.

So, if what you need already exists, instant and spontaneous change is indeed possible.

You just need to recognize that fact and believe in it.

Affirmations are a great way to increase your belief. Here are two of my favorites from prosperity writer Florence Scovel Shinn:

“Today is the day of my amazing good fortune.”

“My seemingly impossible dreams now come to pass.”

Repeat these affirmations constantly throughout the day. And even better still, FEEL them.

2) Reprogram the Guardian of Your Mind

Author Maxwell Maltz in his book Psycho-Cybernetics wrote:

“Every living thing has a built-in guidance system or goal-striving device, put there by its Creator to help it achieve its goal - which is, in broad terms - to live.”

This built-in guidance system is responsible for many things; it helps us to find answers to our problems, it helps us write, be creative and explore new frontiers in science and medicine.

But it also can keep us from realizing our dreams.

Inside our brains is a small network of cells called the “reticular activating system“. This reticular activating system performs the unique function of filtering incoming sensory stimuli - sight, sound, smell and touch.

This system determines which stimuli are going to make an impression in your mind.

So if you are focused on negative and unpleasant circumstances in your life, then only negative and unpleasant circumstances will make an impression in your mind.

On the other hand, if you are focused on success and opportunity, then your reticular activating system will actively seek out circumstances and stimuli to help you succeed.

The recticular activating system is truly the Guardian of Your Mind.

It records everything in your experience and it will turn your desires — or your fears — into your goals.

The great thing about the reticular activating system is that it has the power to AUTOMATICALLY drive you towards success.

If you simply focus on where you want to go instead of where you don’t, you can actually program your mind for success.

Keep in mind that your reticular activating system filters your world according to your most dominant thoughts.

What’s a great way to reprogram the guardian of your mind?

3) Meditate and visualize the tipping point.

If you’ve been a student of self improvement for as long as I have, then you already know how important meditation and visualization are for producing optimal thoughts, reducing stress, promoting health, creating abundance and achieving higher states of consciousness.

Meditation and visualization also happen to be a wonderful methods for reprogramming the guardian of your mind.

As you meditate and visualize, simply focus on your tipping point.

Ask yourself these questions…

What is the next thing I need to do?

Who do I need to contact?

Where do I need to go?

What specific thing do I need to do today to bring about my tipping point?

Focus on these questions for a full 30 minutes and your answers will come to you, maybe not right away, but soon enough.

But you must do it. Most people have the time to think about what they want, but they don’t have the time to actually do what it takes to actually bring about those desires.

You must tie your mind to these questions for the full 30 minutes, allowing nothing to stop you.

After the 30 minutes are up, just relax, detach and let your subconscious mind and reticular activating system (see #2 above) find the answers for you.

Interestingly, when your brain is forced to find answers in this manner, it oftentimes continues to work even without you.

“Act now. For now is all you have” ~ Og Mandino

Incidentally, if you are looking to enhance and “supercharge” your meditation and visualization sessions, I highly recommend an extraordinary new audio called the Mind Power SoundScape. I use these audios every single day with some pretty amazing results (plus, they are very affordable).

And here is one final, important point to accelerate your tipping point…

Start taking daily actions, even if they are small, in the direction of your goals.

Most people do all of the right things, like writing down their goals, visualizing, meditating, and so forth, but they fail to take the necessary steps to actually bring their goal into physical reality.

Keep in mind that focusing on your goals is focusing on the end result. There’s nothing wrong with that.

But, also keep in mind that in order to reach the end, you must first begin.

As Russell Conwell once said:

“To win, BEGIN. All winning starts with beginning. The hardest part is always the start. So a thing begun is more than half done.”

Long-term success is simply a series of short-term accomplishments.

And a series of short-term accomplishments are simply a collection of positive actions taken on a daily basis.

When all else fails, doing something on a daily basis in the direction of your goals will accelerate your tipping point faster than you may realize.

For many people, the tipping point is the missing ingredient to their success.

They may have all the desire and knowledge to succeed, but they are still shy of their goal because they have not yet reached their tipping point.

If you have an intense desire to succeed and the willingness to do what it takes to realize your goals, I urge you to discover your tipping point utilizing the 3 steps I outlined above.

Your tipping point is closer than you think. In fact, it’s there waiting for you to grab it.

The Astonishing Creative Power of Sound

Sound can be used to attract what you desire

The other day while driving home from a ‘challenging’ business meeting, I heard a song on the radio which instantly took me back to another time and place.

The tune playing on the radio was my high school prom song and the moment it began, my mind shifted gears and I immediately let go of all the stress and tension I was feeling.

I started thinking about my lovely prom date and how beautiful she looked in her prom gown.

I easily recalled, with amazing clarity, the magnificent sunny day of the prom, the shiny, freshly waxed car we drove in, and especially the captivating scent of my girlfriend’s perfume.

Problems? What problems? I was in a whole new frame of mind and relishing every moment of it.

“Music has charms to soothe a savage beast.” - William Congreve

Although the event happened over 26 years ago, in my minds eye I remembered everything as if it all happened yesterday.

To say that I was overcome by strong emotional feelings, would be an understatement. That prom was one of the many wonderful experiences I had during my teenage years. It always makes me happy to think about it.

And here’s an important lesson: Success demands a high level of emotional well-being day in and day out. In order to maintain that high level, it’s critical that you leverage any success or personal accomplishment that you’ve had in the past. Think about them. Relish them. And USE those feelings as often as you can in your current undertakings.

“Your past successes — and the feelings surrounding them — are launching pads which can help blast you off into higher levels of accomplishment.”

As for me, what originally started out as a stressful and aggravating day, ended up being a day filled with peace, joy and contentment. All I did was replace my current negative mood with a positive one from my past.

I not only had a wonderfully productive day from that point on, but the feelings generated by that one song also carried me through the next few days.

And what caused this abrupt and much needed transformation in my disposition?

…The Astonishing Creative Power of Sound

And just about everyone has had a similar experience at one point or another. You hear a sound or a piece of music and instantly you can recall something that happened a long time ago.

Sometimes these memories are so vivid, you can recall particular smells (like fresh bread baking in your grandmother’s oven), specific sounds (like the rustle of leaves on a windy day) and even sensations (such as wet sand between your toes from a day at the beach or a kiss from a lover or spouse).

Some people have such vivid and intense recollections that they actually give themselves ‘goose bumps‘.

Music — and specifically sound — is an incredibly powerful and creative energy.

Sound can open up a direct channel to your powerful subconscious mind, that universal mind — the God mind — where all power dwells and where all things are possible.

If you’re not using music or sound in your daily success practice, you aren’t doing all you can to accomplish your goals.

The Ancients Knew All About The Incredible Power and Potential of Sound

Since time immemorial, mystics, priests, shamans and medicine men in many different parts of the world have used rhythm, chants and drum beats as principle tools in rituals and ceremonies to promote healing, enlist the divine help of spirits and to achieve altered states of consciousness.

Many cultures skillfully use sounds and tones in their prayers and rituals even to this day. For example…

=> A trance dance performed by the !Kung Bushmen of Africa has enormous healing power as has been documented in numerous anthropological studies.

=> The Navajo people of the American Southwest use healing rituals known as ’singings’ which they believe opens up a pathway between man and divine gods. Many miraculous healings have been reported.

=>Tibetan chanting and repeating of mantras has long been recognized as an effective aid to help facilitate altered states of consciousness during meditation.

=>The ancient Indian spiritual practice of Nada Yoga stresses inner transformation using sound and tone. This teaching tells us that there is a specific connection between sound frequencies and the individual chakras.

Clearly, sound and music was (and still is) considered a powerful force of nature…

It has an impact on our health, our emotions, our feelings, and — as we are now discovering — our state of mind.

The fact is, modern science is now confirming what the ancients knew thousands of years ago; that sound is an astonishing creative energy.

Used correctly, sound and music have the power to transform your life.

Everything in the Universe is Made up of Vibrating Energy

Everything in the universe vibrates and is made up of energy. You, me, this website, and even the thoughts you are having right now.

Sound and music are no different.

In fact, musical notes vibrate at specific cycles per second. When a note or chord is played on a guitar, for example, the corresponding energy vibrates.

This vibrating energy moves out into the surrounding environment and enters our bodies and alters our blood pressure, breathing, muscle tension and skin temperature.

Here’s the amazing thing: Besides using your ears to “hear” a piece of music, you are also experiencing it in many other ways; physically, mentally, spiritually and even unconsciously.

Music is so much more than a mere melody or song. It has creative — as well as destructive — power.

Numerous studies have shown that plants exposed to classical music actually thrive and grow faster than plants exposed to no music at all.

The same studies have also shown that plants exposed to rock and heavy metal music actually deteriorate and die rather quickly.

Even four-month-old human fetuses respond in very specific ways to sound; if exposed to loud music, their heart beat will accelerate. And just the opposite will occur when a fetus is exposed to soft, relaxing music.

The fact is, sound is an energy which we can “feel” as well as hear.

Studies Suggest That Sound Can Even Rearrange Physical Objects

The science of Cymatics, discovered by Swiss scientist Hans Jenny, is the study of wave phenomena. Cymatics visually demonstrates that sound has the power to shape matter.

Jenny’s experiments showed that fine powders, such as sand and iron filings, actually arrange themselves into intricate patterns when sound waves are aimed at them.

Scientists suggest that these changes occur through the manipulation of energy fields.

Since human beings are made up of energy too, sound has the potential to create changes in us as well.

This is perhaps one explanation for the miraculous healings which take place during the rituals and ceremonies I described earlier; certain sound frequencies have a healing effect on the body’s energy field.

“Music sets up a certain vibration which unquestionably results in a physical reaction.” - George Gershwin

How to Use Sound to Create What You Want in Life

If music can help heal your body, enhance learning and cause plants to grow faster, I believe that it also can be used to help you achieve your goals.

How?

By making “sound therapy” an integral part of your daily self-improvement practice.

Remember, in order to achieve more than the crowd, you have to think more than the crowd.

The concept is simple…

The subconscious mind controls how you react to the world. Fears, habits, desires, and personality traits all stem from associations you have in your subconscious mind.

By changing these subconscious associations and patterns, you can change the way you think and act. You can overcome all of those bad habits, emotional reactions and fears that block and sabotage your success.

You can even install new patterns and associations, like having a prosperity consciousness, a winning attitude and so forth.

And the way you can accomplish this is to use sound as part of your meditation and visualization practice.

When you meditate on your goals or visualize your success, do it with sound!

[Sidebar]:

I even recite my affirmations while particular songs play in the background.

Guess what?

After a few days, all I need to do is hear the song and I instantly think of the affirmations.

Sound is powerful stuff!

Supercharge Your Meditation and Visualization Sessions

It’s no secret that visualization and meditation are highly potent personal success tools.

Visualization — and especially meditation — provide enormous mental, physical and spiritual benefits.

The scientific research conducted over the last few decades is unquestionably clear: during meditation, a person’s mind operates at optimal efficiency.

Why not supercharge your efforts by adding music or sounds to your meditation and visualization sessions?

If you’re already listening to soothing music or sounds while you’re ‘going within’, that’s wonderful. You’re ahead of the game.

But did you know that there are certain sounds and kinds of music which are much better than others in achieving results?

Of course, millions of people listen to sounds and music each day. But do they really know how to USE it as a self-development tool?

Hardly…

In order to fully benefit from the amazing healing and creative energy inherent in sound and music, you must first learn what kind of sound and music to listen to. The fact is, not all sounds and music are good for you.

Next, you must learn how to properly “listen”.

Most people tend to use sound and music as an acoustic background. But in order to unleash sound and music’s incredible creative powers, you must listen in a focused and specific manner.

Here Are 5 Tips to Maximize Your Meditation and Visualization Sessions Using Sound:

1) The music must inspire you and evoke deep feelings. Thinking about what you want isn’t enough. You have to FEEL IT. And if you’re not feeling particularly happy or inspired one day, simply choose a piece of music that’s going to put you in the right frame of mind.

2) You must suspend any kind of intellectual activity like trying to think about the band playing the tune, what instruments are being used and so on. You have to let the music completely flow throughout your consciousness without any thinking about it on your part.

3) Music should be of high artistic quality. Keep in mind, music is energy! High quality music tends to have more positive energy while lower quality music tends to give off negative energy. Plants don’t die listening to heavy metal music for no reason. That kind of music is loaded with uninviting energy. Stay away from it for purposes of meditation. Choose peaceful and slow moving pieces instead. Leave the high octane stuff for your exercise workouts.

4) Music or sounds which incorporate brainwave synchronization technology are ideal. This includes binaural beats, isochronic and monaural tones and filtered natural sounds. These types of sounds can actually facilitate meditation and help you to achieve altered states of consciousness such as the “Theta” state, which is associated with creativity, deep meditation and access to the subconscious mind.

5) Natural sounds are excellent meditation and visualization aids. Nothing connects us to nature and life as do natural sounds such as birds, oceans, country streams, rain showers, waterfalls and so on. This is one of my personal favorites. And the great thing is that natural sounds are all around us.

Personally, I find regular music hard to focus with. Instead, I prefer to meditate using natural sounds or soundscapes.

Soundscapes are simply environmental sounds, such as ocean waves, rain, wind, waterfalls, birds, crickets and so forth.

In my opinion, there’s nothing like a natural sound environment to help deepen relaxation and prepare the subconscious mind for reprogramming.

And if you combine these kinds of sounds with powerful brainwave entrainment technology (as I discussed above), you have an incredibly effective and potent tool for creating results.

Remember, if used properly, sound can enhance your experience when you meditate or visualize.

If you aren’t using sound and music as part of your daily success practice, consider doing so…

There’s an astonishing creative energy in sound that you could be using to your advantage.

How to Get Faster Results

What do you do if something you desire isn’t showing up in your life as quickly as you hoped it would?

Today, I’d like to share with you 3 of my own personal strategies for getting faster results.

Over the years, I’ve used these 3 techniques with some pretty dramatic results.

Earlier this year, when things weren’t happening as fast as I wanted, I realized I was no longer using one or more of these techniques.

As soon as I started using all 3 again, results flowed more easily to me.

Try them for yourself, they really do work….

3 TECHNIQUES TO GET FASTER RESULTS

#1 - Think Big for the Long-Term, But Think Small in the Short-Term

It’s great to have big dreams and goals, but if you’re looking for FAST results, you have to break up your goals into smaller chunks.

Sometimes it just pays to think small.

Here’s what I mean….

Long-term goals are simply a series of accomplished small-term goals.

For example, if you’re looking for the job of your dreams, getting it would be the BIG long-term goal.

But getting that perfect job, involves a series of smaller steps like putting your resume together, networking, interviewing, and so forth.

So instead of focusing solely on getting that great job, focus on the smaller parts of it first.

For example, over the next few days, focus on finding the right networking contacts.

In other words, forget thinking about the job itself. Think about the people who could introduce you to the job instead.

If you work on the smaller parts of your goal first, you’ll end up reaching the whole goal before you know it.

And this technique applies to anything: money, people, cars, houses, business and so on.

So…

Think big for the long-term, but think small in the short-term.

#2 - Let Go of Expectations

Many goal setting experts and coaches recommend setting specific goals and deadlines for their accomplishment.

While I would ordinarily agree with this strategy (it’s vital when working on certain projects, for example), oftentimes this approach doesn’t work with many people and certain goals (like finding a soul mate).

And because of the “cut and dry” nature of deadlines, it’s too easy to get discouraged once the deadline passes and you still didn’t accomplish what you set out to do.

So…let’s say that you need a certain amount of money to fund a new business, buy a new car, or just pay some bills.

Instead of focusing on the amount of money required and the specific date it’s needed, just focus on the things “behind the money“.

In other words, if you need money to pay some bills, think about the feelings of security and peace you’ll have once the bills have been paid in full.

After all, that’s really what you want anyway isn’t it?

You want the feelings associated with what you can do with the money, and not the feelings of having the money itself.

Next… do not limit yourself to specific ways the money can come to you.

Keep your mind completely open to ALL possibilities.

In fact, if you do this, you may not even get money. You may get something else that accomplishes the same exact thing as if you had the money.

In other words, you may get the things “behind the money” and not the money itself!

If you continue to hold expectations for specific sums or dates, you may completely miss out on the perfect solution to your situation.

I’m not saying you should lower your standards. Not at all.

What I am saying is that you should focus on what you really want (i.e., the thing “behind the money” ) and not on the money or material thing itself.

You’ll get much, much faster results if you do.

Sure, you may want a new Mercedes Benz S430, but what if another car or another Mercedes is better for you?

If you keep focusing on a specific car, you may not get any car at all.

Or, you may end up getting a car that is completely wrong for you (i.e., it may cost a fortune to repair, insure, maintain and so forth).

In my opinion, focusing too much on expectations is the #1 reason why so many people get let down when it comes to getting what they truly want in life.

God (and the universe) does not operate according to human timetables or standards.

So…if you’re not getting what you want as quickly as you want it, try to…

Let go of expectations

#3 - Create What You Want on The Inside First

Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.

If you don’t have something in your life right now, there’s a good chance that you really don’t have it in your inner world as well.

In other words, you have to BECOME WHAT YOU WANT on the inside first before you can actually experience it in physical reality.

If you want to be rich, you have to develop a wealth consciousness first.

Every new level of experience or consciousness demands a different you.

Whether you want to be a star athlete a famous musician, or a successful businessperson, you have to experience it in your mind first.

Doing so will not only strengthen your belief and resolve, but it will also harness the incredible powers of your subconscious mind.

Before long, all of the resources, people and things you need to succeed will start appearing in your life….some things will seemingly appear out of nowhere, as if by magic.

You can certainly skip this step and still achieve your goal, but it will definitely take a lot longer.

What’s the Best Way to Create What You Want on the Inside?

Any method of prayer, meditation or visualization works great just as long as you are able to see the thing that you want …right now…as already existing in the present moment.

For me, this is THE MOST IMPORTANT step to achieving my goals.

—– sidebar ——–

Five years ago, my company MindStudio developed a powerful new audio technology called the MindPower Audio Matrix. We created a series of breakthrough audios designed to assist meditation and visualization.

Combined with positive affirmations and naturally recorded 3-D soundscapes and music, these audios are considered a SECRET WEAPON for achieving your goals.

Since their release, thousands of people all over the world have used these audios to relax, meditate and get what they want.

These audios retail for $30 each (and customized versions for $97 a piece), but they’re yours FREE when you purchase either “A Happy Pocket Full of Money” or “A Touch of Greatness.”

—– sidebar ——–

I’ll repeat this because it’s vitally important:

In order to get what you want in the physical world, it’s important to create it first in your inner world.

And the best way to accomplish this is through prayer, meditation and visualization.

If you do this on a consistent basis, you will speed up your results.

So, there you have it. 3 techniques for getting faster results.

Keep in mind that these 3 techniques must be used together in order to get the fastest results possible.

You can still achieve results if you don’t use them all, but personally, I’ve gotten the fastest …and best results… using all three.

All You Need to Fly is Belief!

I’m writing today from the beaches of Salvo, North Carolina.

Salvo is a coastal town in the Outer Banks of North Carolina; a 200 mile stretch of barrier islands off the Eastern coast of the United States.

I’m here for a much needed, week-long vacation.

Salvo is about a half hour away from the town of Kitty Hawk; the place where the Wright brothers made history by building and flying the first airplane.

That first flight, as you know, forever made the world a smaller place.

As I stood at the spot where the Wright brothers took their first flight, I was deeply inspired. For a brief moment, I imagined that fateful day back in 1903 when the whole world changed forever.

“The Wright Brothers created the single greatest cultural force since the invention of writing. The airplane became the first World Wide Web, bringing people, languages, ideas, and values together.” - Bill Gates

Orville and Wilbur Wright made more advances in aviation from 1900 to 1903 than all of the rest of mankind since the beginning of time.

Yet before they took that first flight, the Wright brothers had to endure ridicule, pessimism and doubt from those who said it coud not be done.

I’m glad they didn’t listen and instead followed their dream and passion.

I’m sure you are too.

Although people have dreamed about flying for thousands of years, the Wright brothers actually did it.

And the world will never again be the same because of it.

It all started with a simple idea, a vision and the courage and perseverance to make it happen.

So, my questions to you today are…

What have you been thinking about doing but keep putting off?

Who’s been talking you out of your dreams?

Why have you been listening to them?

Are you letting that little negative voice inside of your head talk you out of your plans?

Are you listening to the doubters and naysayers instead of following your heart?

Please keep this in mind…

No one ever built a monument to a cynic, a doubter or a critic.

As the Roman poet Virgil said over 2,000 years ago:

“Fortune favors the bold.”

And that wise advise is as important today as it has ever been.

Success and wealth always flows to those who are willing to step aside from the crowd and follow their own path.

The Wright brothers didn’t think about changing the whole world. If they did, they may have never accomplished what they did.

Instead, they just thought about flying. They followed their dreams and took action.

They refused to listen to the critics and naysers and as a result, they made the impossible possible.

And in case you think the Wright brothers were prodigies or something special, consider these facts:

1. They didn’t graduate high school.

2. They had no formal training in aviation or engineering; they were self taught.

3. They were bicycle shop owners.

4. They lacked funding for their project.

5. They did not have the latest technology.

6. They lacked support.

They just believed….and that was enough!

So, listen up…

It’s time to fly.

Whatever it is that you’ve been planning on doing or acheiving, it’s time to get it going.

You may not change the whole world as the Wright brothers did.

But then again, you just might.

Your Problems Are Opportunities in Disguise

Are you dissatisfied with the way certain things are going in your life?

Is your income not what you had hoped it would be?

Does your job leave you feeling unfulfilled?

Are you facing a personal crisis or relationship problem?

Relax …

Whatever problems you face, they are opportunities in disguise.

I repeat…

Your problems are opportunities in disguise.

So take a deep breath and get ready to unmask the GREATNESS hiding inside of you.

Problems are as vital to your life as the air you breathe and the food and water you need to stay alive.

Nature’s purpose for giving you problems is not to torment you, but to force you to grow.

Tough problems build strong, successful [and rich] people, while easy problems make people soft, lazy and mediocre.

“I expect, even look for obstacles and problems, knowing they are not interruptions of normal life. THEY ARE NORMAL LIFE. Life’s greatest game is licking obstacles.” - Frank Tibolt

I pity the person who has no problems in life.

They may be alive, but they’re just half awake as far as I’m concerned.

Problems make people strong as steel.

Before steel acquires it’s strength, toughness and durability, it must undergo extreme temperatures.

“The finest steel has to go through the hottest fire” - John N. Mitchell

The high heat also makes the steel malleable. Once it’s malleable, it can be molded into a specific shape for a particular job or purpose.

Problems are to people as fire is to steel.

Problems Create Opportunities …and Wealth

Look at the world around you. Just about every invention or discovery solves some type of problem.

Take for example, billionaire inventor James Sorenson. During his lifetime he held over 40 patents.

His most famous invention, the disposable surgical mask, came about after he observed surgeons reusing cloth masks.

The practice of reusing the cloth masks was unsanitary and it increased the chance of spreading germs and infection.

But instead of focusing on the problem, Sorenson focused on the opportunity.

His personal mantra was: “How can I find a better way?”

And that one simple question asked over and over again, made him a billionaire.

It All Depends On What You’re Focusing On

As I look back over my own life, my greatest achievements have always come right after I faced a big and challenging problem.

If you look back at your own life, you’ll see that this is true for you as well.

Unfortunately, most people don’t see their problems as opportunities in disguise.

Instead, they dwell on the negative aspects of the problem and completely ignore the opportunities the problem presents.

By focusing only on what is wrong in your life you will only see what is wrong.

“Problems are the price of progress: Don’t bring me anything but trouble - good news weakens me.” - Charles F. Kettering

Before I learned to view my problems as opportunities, I was prone to negative thinking in a big way.

I’d complain about how bad things were going. I’d blame people and circumstances for my bad luck.

I’d often wake up feeling depressed and miserable and those feelings would spill over into all areas of my life.

I was caught in a vicious cycle of negative thinking.

And guess what?

I’d always end up getting more of the same.

It wasn’t until I changed my focus that my problems became my strongest allies.

Instead of thinking about the bad that happened, I started to think about the good that CAN HAPPEN.

And all you need to do to start profiting from your problems is to start asking the right questions.

Ask yourself, “What did I forget, neglect or foul up? What specific steps can I take to prevent these foul ups in the future? What can I do to improve on today’s work? - Frank Tibolt

5 Steps to Unmasking the Opportunities Hidden in Your Problems

1) Start by creating a shift in your thinking.

It’s o.k. to be frustrated and disappointed with something not going your way …for a short while at least.

Being temporarily dissatisfied and unhappy about something will create the impetus you need to start unmasking an opportunity.

Get the negative feelings out of the way as quickly as possible, then get busy focusing on opportunities and solutions.

Once you begin to focus on solutions and answers, you will create an important shift in your thinking. This shift will help change your mentality from victim to victor.

And that’s an important shift many people take a long, long time to realize, if they even realize it at all.

But once that shift occurs, powerful changes will begin to take place.

Your new thinking will permeate your subconscious mind and you will begin to see opportunities all around you.

Ever think about a certain kind of car and all of a sudden you start seeing it everywhere? The cars were there all along. You just never noticed them because you simply weren’t focusing on them.

Once you begin focusing on possible solutions and opportunities, you will literally begin to ’see’ them everywhere. You will begin to attract all of the information, people and opportunities you need to succeed.

What’s the best way to realize specific opportunities and solutions?

2) Focus on the lessons and learnings.

Ask yourself, what is this situation or problem trying to teach me? What lesson can I learn from my predicament?

If you’re not happy with your current job, for example, consider the reason or reasons why?

Ask yourself, what is my dissatisfaction trying to teach me? Is it time for me to move on? Do I need to be doing something more challenging or rewarding?

It’s important to focus on the lessons of the situation and not on the negative feelings.

Remember, what you focus on expands.

Focus on the lessons and learnings in all problematic situations and you’ll be profiting from your circumstances in no time.

Here’s a great way to come up with a specific action plan for turning a problem into an opportunity…

3) Write an article about the solution to your problem.

Francis Bacon said:

“Reading maketh a full man; speech a ready man; and writing an exact man”.

Language is one of the great differences between lower animals and man. And writing is the highest form of language.

In fact, writing forces us to think. It has ten times the power to force us to concentrate and think accurately, exactly, and meaningfully as mere talking or silent pondering.

So, brainstorm a list of solutions to your problem and then write an article about how to solve it.

Many executives and successful people use this powerful method of writing to solve difficult problems. Try it. It really works.

4) Have faith that an answer to your problem exists.

Believing that you can solve a problem is vital to actually solving it!

In fact, belief or non-belief in a thing, whatever it might be, is THE determining factor as to whether you are able to accomplish a thing or not.

So it’s really important to firmly believe in your ability to solve a problem.

Belief will give you the ‘I can win’ attitude that will generate the enthusiasm, power, skill and energy needed to solve your dilemma.

“If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” - Mahatma Gandhi

If you study successful people, you’ll notice that most of them are simply ordinary people who have developed tremendous belief in themselves.

When you believe that you can do something, your subconscious mind will automatically search for the means necessary to help you achieve your desires.

And whatever you do…

5) Don’t get discouraged if your opportunity doesn’t show up right away.

Even if things don’t look like they’re going exactly the way you intended, trust that there’s a reason for it.

Your problem may be preparing you for an amazing opportunity or set of circumstances that you just can’t see at the moment.

God oftentimes works in mysterious ways and He has a plan for every single one of us. You just might not be privy to it yet.

Many times I am amazed how circumstances work out. And I often don’t see how it will turn out until the end. Then I’ll look back and be completely in awe at how well everything fell into place.

Consider the story of my good friend Ivan Zitek of Ontario, Canada.

Back in the early 70’s, Ivan made the decision to flee his birthplace of communist Yugoslavia.

In search of a better life, he planned his escape.

After nearly reaching the Austrian border (and his freedom) Ivan was captured, beaten and thrown in jail.

But he never gave up…

After being released from prison, he went home and tried to escape again …the very next day.

And this time he was successful. Eventually he made it across the Atlantic to Canada.

In Canada, he was able to start a completely new life.

He eventually started his own business, raised a family and did things he could never dream of doing in his former homeland of Yugoslavia.

But one day, things took a turn for the worse.

While driving to work one morning, his vehicle was struck by a huge construction crane.

When he woke up in the hospital some time later, he realized that he had been severely injured.

The doctors told him that he would need at least 6 months to recuperate. That meant he wasn’t able to do any physical labor whatsoever - including working in his c
