I’m glad!  That’s the whole purpose of this blog!  To get you — and me — thinking of accomplishing the impossible.

Anyway …you may recall that I also posted a follow-up video about a totally blind painter from Turkey named Esref Armagan.

In addition to all of the positive feedback about the Amazing Mind Powers article, I also received a lot of questions about another one of the “stars” of that article…

…”Wim Hof” (pronounced “Vim” Hof) — the ICE MAN.

To briefly summarize…..

The ICE MAN has the ability to withstand extreme cold temperatures — temperatures which would incapacitate or even kill most people.

He’s able to control his internal body temperature using merely his “thoughts”.

But that’s not all…

The ICE MAN has the extraordinary power to heal his body.

During a barefoot run in the Arctic Circle (which you’ll soon see), he suffered severely frostbitten toes. The doctor told him they would have to amputate.

He didn’t like that option (in fact, he didn’t even take the advice seriously).

The ICE MAN simply *willed* his dead frozen toes back to life.

3 Lessons to Learn from the ICE MAN

As you watched the video, I hope you noticed the following 3 REVEALING things about the ICE MAN…

LESSON #1-  Attitude is Everything

The ICE MAN has a great attitude!  At around 7 minutes into the video you see him and his doctor discussing the possibility of severe damage to his toes caused by the extreme cold temperatures.

She asks him if he wants to continue.  He says “Yes” in the most confident and nonchalant way.

=> Clearly, your attitude is one of the most critical factors in your success of failure.

In my opinion — when it comes to getting results,  it’s important to realize that attitude is everything!

This applies to ANY of your goals, whether it’s physical, mental, educational, financial, or spiritual.

The way you look at the world affects how you feel, your health, your relationships and every other aspect of your day-to-day existence.

If you see the world as a friendly place, it will be.  If you view the world as hostile, guess what?  It will certainly be an unfriendly and malevolent place for you.

Your attitude is also a powerful unseen force which has a profound effect on others.

A positive attitude invites and attracts good luck and makes life an interesting game and a thrilling adventure.

And attitude counts far more, to help us succeed, than ability or talent, or even brilliance or genius.

And YOU control your attitude by your thoughts!

Take it from the ICE MAN – it’s absolutely essential to maintain a positive mental attitude at every opportunity.

 

LESSON #2 – Meditation & Visualization are Critical to Success

Although you don’t see too much of it on this video clip, the ICE MAN uses meditation and visualization as a way to harness his extraordinary mental powers.

If you’re not meditating or visualizing on a regular basis — then you aren’t doing all you can to succeed in life …period.

One of the most effective ways to re-program your subconscious mind is by meditating and visualizing on a consistent basis, preferably daily.

If you’ve been a student of self improvement for as long as I have, then you already know how important meditation and visualization are for:

* reducing stress,
* promoting health,
* creating abundance
* achieving higher states of consciousness
* producing optimal thoughts,
* and more…

And since the brain is the tool you use to create thought, you must learn how to harness and re-direct your brain’s incredible powers.

You must be able to shift your state of mind into optimal patterns of thinking and consciousness.

If you want to succeed …learn to see your problems and challenges as allies and opportunities instead of enemies.

I just recently read somewhere that when you learn to love something — even if it’s something you’ve never liked in the past — it’s burden and effect on you dissipates …oftentimes almost instantly.

It’s obvious that the Ice Man can easily deal with the cold because he has learned to love and appreciate it.

I challenge you to befriend your obstacles and challenges. Doing so may add a whole new positive dimension to your life.

You may even surprise yourself…

It’s All in Your Mind

As we have seen from these and other amazing people with extraordinary mind powers — your true source of power is in your own mind — with your thoughts.

Many people feel that the answers to their problems will come from having more money, a better economy, a new government or something else outside of themselves.

Not true…

Your mind and your thinking has EVERYTHING to do with how your life ultimately turns out.

The thoughts you are having right now are the seeds you are planting for the future.  So be careful.

Learn to control your thoughts and you will undoubtedly have control of your life.

How to Unleash Your Superhuman Mind Powers

Last night I stayed up until 1 o’clock in the morning absolutely riveted to my TV set.

I’m happy to say that I was NOT watching the news (I actually gave up on that a long time ago).

I was watching a show on the Science/Discovery Channel about four REAL people who have extraordinary mental powers.

A real Fantastic Four, if you will.

There was a guy from the Netherlands who was called the ICE MAN. He has the ability to withstand extreme cold temperatures.

I don’t know how he does it (and neither do the scientists), but he’s able to warm his body temperature just with his thoughts (I’ve read that there are some Yogis that can do this as well).

He once sat buried up to his neck in a pool of ice for over an hour!

Last night they showed him running a half marathon in frigid temperatures (up in the Arctic Circle) — with nothing on except a pair of shorts!!!

He was completely topless and barefoot in minus -30C temperatures!!

After the race the doctor told him they would have to amputate his toes because they were frozen dead.

No problem for the ICE MAN…

He simply *willed* his toes back to life with his mind!

The doctor was shocked.

Amazing….!!

Then, there was the HUMAN CALCULATOR; a guy from Germany who can solve complex (and I mean VERY COMPLEX) formulas inside his head.

And he can do it faster than someone using a calculator!!!

The guy can also speak backwards; not only single words but entire sentences.

Wow!!

Now, this next person blew me away…

THE BLIND PAINTER

Yes…a blind man from Anchorage, Turkey who paints beautiful scenic paintings with his fingers.  His creations are wonderful pieces of art.

Here’s one of his paintings…

Incredible isn’t it?

What’s even more amazing is that this man was born without eyes!

He’s never seen a color or scene in his entire life (at least not with his physical eyes).

He “sees” more with his fingers than some people do with their eyes.

And finally there was a woman from Switzerland known as the The Synaesthete.

Synaesthesia is an extremely rare neurological condition which is characterized by a “fusing” of the senses.

This woman was able to see and taste music!

According to her, each musical note has a specific color and pattern.  And certain musical notes actually produce flavors on her tongue!

For example, a minor sixth has a creamy texture, while a perfect fourth tastes like mowed grass!

Incredible…

She also doesn’t like going to discos because the loud bass sounds give off these big black square boxes which annoy her.

Her memory is like a steel trap too; she can remember complex musical scores and whole lists of names just by reading it once.

I find all of this extremely fascinating.

And the reason I bring it up is because there is absolutely no limit to the human mind.

Anyone who believes otherwise is just fooling themselves.

The great American psychologist William James put it this way…

“Compared to what we should be, we are only half alive. We are making use of only a small part of our mind power. Deep down inside of us are vast powers we know nothing of and never use.”

I recently read somewhere that before the Industrial Revolution, people were more “in tune” with their natural mind powers.

Although technological progress has contributed immensely to making our lives easier,  I believe that its also had a somewhat negative effect on our natural ability to heal, reduce stress and think creatively.

We are ALL blessed with awesome mental capabilities.

Right now, your mind has the power to answer and solve any of your problems, dilemmas and personal challenges.

ALL of them …

You have the power to create your perfect life; you can have the ideal business, job, friends, mate and home.

You are not limited in any way by your environment, your background, your intelligence or even by lack of money.

If you learn how to tap the vast potential of your mind, infinite resources are at your command.

Unfortunately, many people don’t realize the awesome powers they possess — or if they do, they don’t exercise them properly or as often as they should.

While its true that some individuals — like the four people I mentioned earlier — seem to have been born with incredible mental gifts, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have the capacity for some pretty amazing mental powers yourself.

Here are three ways to develop and hone your mind powers..

=> 1) BELIEVE

The first key to unleashing your mind power is to simply claim it.

Many people don’t believe they possess extraordinary mind powers and as a result, they inadvertently keep them dormant.

Belief in yourself and your capabilities is the most important factor in harnessing your incredible mental gifts.

You don’t believe you have mental powers?

Try this challenge for a week…

Before you begin each day, simply create it in your mind first.

Think of your day exactly the way you would like it to be. Write a list of things you would like to see happen in a journal or notebook for each day.

For example, if you have an upcoming meeting, see it first in your minds eye exactly how you want it to go.

Carry these thoughts and pictures with you as you go about your day.  Try not to negate them with negative or fearful thinking.

Eventually, you will begin to see a pattern emerge; a pattern which you had a hand in creating!

At the end of the week, you will be amazed at how really powerful you are in creating your own reality.  Many of the things you wrote in your journal will have transpired.

=> 2) BE FOCUSED

Many people say they understand mental principles like the law of attraction and positive thinking, but one day they’re thinking about one thing, the next day about something else and a week later, they’re involved with something completely different.

Is it any wonder why people don’t get the results they want?

People who exhibit strong mental powers have an uncanny ability to CONCENTRATE.

They’re not scattered or indecisive like most people.

If they have a goal, it’s usually sharp, clear-cut and definite.

For example, if they need a certain amount of money, they’re focused on the actual amount and specific steps required to acquire it.

Concentration is crucial to harnessing your mental powers …and getting the RESULTS you seek.

How does one go about developing concentration?

By waking up more of your idle brain cells.

One excellent way to develop concentration is by writing.

In fact,  writing forces us to think. It has ten times the power to force us to concentrate and think accurately, exactly, and meaningfully as mere talking or silent pondering.

Forcing yourself to write harnesses a group of brain cells to produce thoughts.

If you have a challenging problem or situation, write about it and try to figure it out. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish by focusing your thoughts as you write.

But by far the best way to develop concentration and your mind powers is by meditating…

One thing I found interesting about the ICE MAN was that he meditated a lot.

Whenever he needed to warm up his body temperature, he became engrossed in thought.

By focusing and concentrating on positive thoughts, he was also able to revitalize his dead frozen toes, as I mentioned.

Meditation is a powerful tool for developing your mental powers.

The Astonishing Creative Power of Sound

Sound can be used to attract what you desire

The other day while driving home from a ‘challenging’ business meeting, I heard a song on the radio which instantly took me back to another time and place.

The tune playing on the radio was my high school prom song and the moment it began, my mind shifted gears and I immediately let go of all the stress and tension I was feeling.

I started thinking about my lovely prom date and how beautiful she looked in her prom gown.

I easily recalled, with amazing clarity, the magnificent sunny day of the prom, the shiny, freshly waxed car we drove in, and especially the captivating scent of my girlfriend’s perfume.

Problems? What problems? I was in a whole new frame of mind and relishing every moment of it.

Although the event happened over 26 years ago, in my minds eye I remembered everything as if it all happened yesterday.

To say that I was overcome by strong emotional feelings, would be an understatement. That prom was one of the many wonderful experiences I had during my teenage years. It always makes me happy to think about it.

And here’s an important lesson: Success demands a high level of emotional well-being day in and day out. In order to maintain that high level, it’s critical that you leverage any success or personal accomplishment that you’ve had in the past. Think about them. Relish them. And USE those feelings as often as you can in your current undertakings.

As for me, what originally started out as a stressful and aggravating day, ended up being a day filled with peace, joy and contentment. All I did was replace my current negative mood with a positive one from my past.

I not only had a wonderfully productive day from that point on, but the feelings generated by that one song also carried me through the next few days.

And what caused this abrupt and much needed transformation in my disposition?

…The Astonishing Creative Power of Sound

And just about everyone has had a similar experience at one point or another. You hear a sound or a piece of music and instantly you can recall something that happened a long time ago.

Sometimes these memories are so vivid, you can recall particular smells (like fresh bread baking in your grandmother’s oven), specific sounds (like the rustle of leaves on a windy day) and even sensations (such as wet sand between your toes from a day at the beach or a kiss from a lover or spouse).

Some people have such vivid and intense recollections that they actually give themselves ‘goose bumps‘.

Music — and specifically sound — is an incredibly powerful and creative energy.

Sound can open up a direct channel to your powerful subconscious mind, that universal mind — the God mind — where all power dwells and where all things are possible.

Since time immemorial, mystics, priests, shamans and medicine men in many different parts of the world have used rhythm, chants and drum beats as principle tools in rituals and ceremonies to promote healing, enlist the divine help of spirits and to achieve altered states of consciousness.

Many cultures skillfully use sounds and tones in their prayers and rituals even to this day. For example…

=> A trance dance performed by the !Kung Bushmen of Africa has enormous healing power as has been documented in numerous anthropological studies.

=> The Navajo people of the American Southwest use healing rituals known as ‘singings’ which they believe opens up a pathway between man and divine gods. Many miraculous healings have been reported.

Everything in the Universe is Made up of Vibrating Energy

Everything in the universe vibrates and is made up of energy. You, me, this website, and even the thoughts you are having right now.

Sound and music are no different.

In fact, musical notes vibrate at specific cycles per second. When a note or chord is played on a guitar, for example, the corresponding energy vibrates.

This vibrating energy moves out into the surrounding environment and enters our bodies and alters our blood pressure, breathing, muscle tension and skin temperature.

Here’s the amazing thing: Besides using your ears to “hear” a piece of music, you are also experiencing it in many other ways; physically, mentally, spiritually and even unconsciously.

Music is so much more than a mere melody or song. It has creative — as well as destructive — power.

Numerous studies have shown that plants exposed to classical music actually thrive and grow faster than plants exposed to no music at all.

The same studies have also shown that plants exposed to rock and heavy metal music actually deteriorate and die rather quickly.

Even four-month-old human fetuses respond in very specific ways to sound; if exposed to loud music, their heart beat will accelerate. And just the opposite will occur when a fetus is exposed to soft, relaxing music.

The fact is, sound is an energy which we can “feel” as well as hear.

Studies Suggest That Sound Can Even Rearrange Physical Objects

The science of Cymatics, discovered by Swiss scientist Hans Jenny, is the study of wave phenomena. Cymatics visually demonstrates that sound has the power to shape matter.

Jenny’s experiments showed that fine powders, such as sand and iron filings, actually arrange themselves into intricate patterns when sound waves are aimed at them.

Scientists suggest that these changes occur through the manipulation of energy fields.

Since human beings are made up of energy too, sound has the potential to create changes in us as well.

This is perhaps one explanation for the miraculous healings which take place during the rituals and ceremonies I described earlier; certain sound frequencies have a healing effect on the body’s energy field.

Remember, in order to achieve more than the crowd, you have to think more than the crowd.

The concept is simple…

The subconscious mind controls how you react to the world. Fears, habits, desires, and personality traits all stem from associations you have in your subconscious mind.

By changing these subconscious associations and patterns, you can change the way you think and act. You can overcome all of those bad habits, emotional reactions and fears that block and sabotage your success.

You can even install new patterns and associations, like having a prosperity consciousness, a winning attitude and so forth.

And the way you can accomplish this is to use sound as part of your meditation and visualization practice.

When you meditate on your goals or visualize your success, do it with sound!

Guess what?

After a few days, all I need to do is hear the song and I instantly think of the affirmations.

1) The music must inspire you and evoke deep feelings. Thinking about what you want isn’t enough. You have to FEEL IT. And if you’re not feeling particularly happy or inspired one day, simply choose a piece of music that’s going to put you in the right frame of mind.

2) You must suspend any kind of intellectual activity like trying to think about the band playing the tune, what instruments are being used and so on. You have to let the music completely flow throughout your consciousness without any thinking about it on your part.

3) Music should be of high artistic quality. Keep in mind, music is energy! High quality music tends to have more positive energy while lower quality music tends to give off negative energy. Plants don’t die listening to heavy metal music for no reason. That kind of music is loaded with uninviting energy. Stay away from it for purposes of meditation. Choose peaceful and slow moving pieces instead. Leave the high octane stuff for your exercise workouts.

4) Music or sounds which incorporate brainwave synchronization technology are ideal. This includes binaural beats, isochronic and monaural tones and filtered natural sounds. These types of sounds can actually facilitate meditation and help you to achieve altered states of consciousness such as the “Theta” state, which is associated with creativity, deep meditation and access to the subconscious mind.

5) Natural sounds are excellent meditation and visualization aids. Nothing connects us to nature and life as do natural sounds such as birds, oceans, country streams, rain showers, waterfalls and so on. This is one of my personal favorites. And the great thing is that natural sounds are all around us.

Personally, I find regular music hard to focus with. Instead, I prefer to meditate using natural sounds or soundscapes.

Soundscapes are simply environmental sounds, such as ocean waves, rain, wind, waterfalls, birds, crickets and so forth.

In my opinion, there’s nothing like a natural sound environment to help deepen relaxation and prepare the subconscious mind for reprogramming.

And if you combine these kinds of sounds with powerful brainwave entrainment technology (as I discussed above), you have an incredibly effective and potent tool for creating results.

Remember, if used properly, sound can enhance your experience when you meditate or visualize.
